Push Her In! by Dolcett

This is a very explicit line drawing by Dolcett that depicts a young woman about to meet a very nasty fate in a big pot of boiling water. This image is made even more powerful by the portrayal of the man and woman carrying out the deed. They both come across as especially cruel and brutal. Added 09/28/98.

In the Pot by Gynophage/Gerbil

A wonderful shaded pencil drawing of a pretty woman simmering in a pot. Added 09/28/98.

Cook Out Fanantic by Hagenan

A dedicated fan of cookouts can't resist a lovely repast. Added 02/10/99.

Spicy Food by Rob Topper

The wife of a good cannibal reminds him about his dietary restrictions as he prepares a young woman in a pot of hot water. Added 02/10/99.

Wait a Minute! by Dick Ericson

This is a wonderful drawing of a woman who is saved from the pot only to meet some other fate. The artist leaves that something else to our imagination. Added 02/10/99.

St. Potamiaine by George Pichard

Mr. Pichard pens the fate of Saint Potamiaine who was boiled alive for her Christian beliefs in 304 A.D. by the Romans. Upon announcement of the mode of her execution, St. Potamiaine insisted that she not be cast into the boiling pitch abruptly but instead lowered into it slowly to show her tormentors the power of her belief. Added 5/23/99.

LeChat was kind enough to send me this illustration. He maintains a a very nice compilation of the stories of St. Potamiaine and others on the Women Martyrs page.

Penny Soup

A correspondent sent me this drawing that he found posted in a discussion group. The artist pokes fun at the myriad of cooking shows that are now popular on off-beat cable channels. The quality is excellent. Added 05/30/99.
